TINA RIX

I'm a Nigerian American licensed psychotherapist, doctoral student, group practice outpatient mental health clinic owner, award-winning film director, and independent recording artist. I believe advocacy for mental health is important and we should never stop trying to reach out and help others by sharing our stories. I am sharing this message through the means of film projects and my music. We also plan to sign new young and upcoming artists in the future that are super talented and feel lost in a world and industry saturated with a lot of music. We want to help young artists develop their sound, brand, and figure out what type of message fo they mean to put out into the world. I am very happy to be at a point in my career where I had enough funds to establish a film and music company, Tina Rix Music and Film, LLC, and Thought Positive Media, LLC. The goal is to help stomp out the stigma that surrounds mental health, share our stories, and promote quality independent artists from all around the world. We established the companies in January and February 2020, and have continued to work and invest in getting this message out despite the pandemic. My hope is for my music to touch people's hearts and spark a flame in their hearts that promotes health, healing, elevations, self-love, and inspiration to become their best and brightest form of self. My Nigerian name is Iyango, which means my wealth. If wealth ever truly finds me (because I am broke right now, lol), I plan to invest it back into the arts and mental health advocacy as the message about mental health needs to be spread all over the world. Suicide rates continue to rise and acknowledging and treating our mental health can significantly reduce this from remaining the storyline of humanity for future years and decades to come. Throughout my life, there were those singers such as PJ Morton, Zacardi Cortez, Sade, Jill Scott, Seal, John Mayer, Sheryl Crowe, Sunny Ade, Abba, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Brandy, Toni Braxton, Celine Dion, Yolanda Adams, and Prince that inspired me and helped me heal and emote. My wish and desire with my own music is to hopefully do the same with my own music, which is to touch others in a positive and impactful way.
